Evolution MWD Systems

Reliable Evolution EM and Mud Pulse MWD systems

Directional Drillers Evolution MWD systems were developed from the best available tools on today's market.

The new Evolution MWD system advances MWD technology by combining the best choice of available MWD components with Drillers Directional's new technologies that enhance and extended MWD performance and provide operators with additional options that are not available on standard MWD systems.

The Evolution MWD System has the following improvements and new features

  • More rugged chassis with Max Temperature Indicator
  • Accurate inclination while rotationg (at 20 deg. inclination or greater)
  • Accurate azimuth while rotating
  • Real-time clock
  • Real-time rotation detection

Electromagnetic MWD System

The Electronic MWD system utilizes electromagnet technology that allows operators to drill and survey wells independently from rig hydraulics. The EM MWD system does not need the pumps on or off or cycled to receive a survey. This can significantly reduce survey time especially where high ROP wells are concerned. Often the survey is complete before the connection so that drilling can resume immediately after the connection thus reducing or eliminating survey time.

The EM MWD system also has no moving down hole parts, this can help reduce down hole failures and provide longer drilling runs.

In areas where lost circulation can be a problem the EM MWD System can really perform. Underbalanced drilling is also another are where the EM system is utilized.
